Red

Once upon a Tuesday
There was a cow weakened with tyranny
Cows, ancient brothers, flowing milk, flowing into helping hands
And we processed them into sediments, into prime cuts, into cans!
Will no one hunger?
Will no one stand?
To eat dog's eyes
And crap like Spam?
My brothers lend me your ears
Your hooves are weak,
And your eyes cry out tears
Your brothers are bones, the barnyard is stained and red
Foghorn!
Our animal friends are persecuted
Their blood is red
We fall on crumbs
We fall on bread
No more beef, no more ham...
No more institutionalized food products
Damned the flow around our feet!
Where our children grow and learn...
Where our prospects meet
Who cries out for the dead?
With echoes left to question,
With mouths left to be fed
The bone the dog comes to bury
Flea-ridden and weary!
The blood our brothers bleed
And we are smitten red
