Something About Nothing and Everything

Something is something that some people find
In some people it's finding that something that takes time
Nothing is everything that all people have
Nothing is the death of dreaming or believing or knowing that you can
Everything is all things, left or right, evil or good, seeing or blind
And seeing there is only One thing
And there truly is no such thing as time...
What would you do if your television left you?
And the couch there too?
And the clock ticked backwards on the wall
Life undid itself, and your heart was racing too...
What would you do if you looked in the refrigerator
And there was no food,
The clock was still ticking backwards on the wall
And there was nothing you could do, nothing at all
No bed, no blankets, no sleep
No security, and your money was gone and you couldn’t even think
Your pillows are dancing with your dreams
Your wife is cold-hearted and your children are angry
They carry knives and guns and everything they've begun they'll bury
With swords and spider stings

You have everything, but there's nothing
You're everywhere, but you're nowhere
You'll see a lot, but you'll see nothing
You'll know you could be something in anything
So here you are, this is it
So this is life, and it's what you make of it
So these are the dreams that fill your eyes
With promises of pleasure and prayer
Or steer you from your course in deceit, in nightmares
What would you do if the stars left you,
And the nighttime too?
The moon said good-bye,
The sky didn't know what to do...
What would you do if the leaves fell in summer
And the ground was barren, it wouldn't let anything grow for you
If the rays of the sun became too cold...
For you to live there too?
And before you knew it you were too old
And now it was death that you were facing
A cool breeze whistles through an open window
It's a still night as you wrestle with your own shadow, with your own ego
Tossing and turning in your own grace and decay
You rejoice
Because your life will be long and your life will be short
And you shall find it in your own way
